Frequently Asked Questions

How do I request a quote, and how soon will I get it?

If you email us your available design documents to szamitas@szamitas.com, we will prepare and send you our quotation within two working days. The quote will also include a sample Excel bill of quantities, the contract draft, and the applicable delivery and payment conditions.

What file formats should I send for a quotation request?

Pdf and Office documents (Word, Excel).

How detailed should my submission be?

For a quotation, floor plans, sections, and elevations are sufficient. If these are not yet available, any information you can share will be helpful.

Do your cost estimates reflect current market prices?

Yes, we apply unit rates from a continuously updated third party database and our in-house cost database, developed through competitive pricing tenders.

Which disciplines do you prepare cost estimates for?

Architecture, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.

What forms of cost estimation do you provide, and is a sample file available?

Our custom-built estimating software creates Excel-based cost plans. We include representative samples for different building types with each price offer.

Do you compile the master (multi-discipline) cost estimate for larger projects?

Yes. We compile the Master Excel cost summary after receiving the individual discipline estimates.

How soon can I expect the completed cost estimate?

It depends on the project size, and we align with the required delivery schedule. The average turnaround time is 10 working days from receiving the design package.

When should I pay for the service?

Smaller projects require full (100%) prepayment upon contract signing, as indicated on the pro forma invoice. Larger projects are billed in scheduled monthly instalments by mutual agreement.

What is the contracting process?

The draft agreement is sent through the eszerzodes.hu system by email for review and approval. No special tools are required for the digital signature — it can be completed in just a few clicks. Once signed, the system automatically sends the finalized contract to all parties by email.

What is the process for changes raised during the post-delivery review phase?

Adjustments requested within the review period are already included in the proposal price.

What steps do you take to guarantee an accurate and gap-free cost estimate?

We use a custom-built cost estimating software developed with programmers, integrated with IFC models. Quantities are synchronized with cost items through a live link, and the same method works for 2D PDF documents as well.

Do you offer advisory services outside of active projects?

Yes, we offer online consultations. Balázs Nagy’s rate is HUF 42,500 + VAT per hour, and consultations with our specialists are HUF 23,750 + VAT per hour. Each started hour is invoiced as a full one.
